Porn for Women TV is an adult site that primarily offers videos from feminist and alternative directors. It seeks to present a different kind of porn to women (and others) who are seeking something other than the traditional, mainstream, male-gaze-oriented porn that you will find all over the internet.
How you define “porn for women” is really in the eye of the beholder (see this article). I have my own personal definition which I have applied to this site when it comes to selecting the content. This means that the content you find here is not definitive. Women’s tastes vary when it comes to porn and I can’t represent all of them. What’s on this site is necessarily a result of my own perspective of what’s sexy, combined with a personal judgement of what I think other women and marginalized people (and that includes men who aren’t so keen on mainstream porn) would like to see.
Here’s some of the criteria I have tried to follow.
* The video is feminist: it was made by a director who identifies as feminist and has tried to apply that philosophy to their work.
* The director/creator intended the video to be seen by women or marginalized people and has labelled it as such. This means the primary intended audience is female/women/queer first and foremost.
* The video seeks to depict a female perspective (whatever that may be). It tries in some way to reflect a female/queer/trans experience of sex. It doesn’t have the default position of a straight male gaze.
* The video depicts sexual scenarios that reflect common female fantasies or desires.
* The video treats its performers with respect, uses sex positive language and doesn’t reproduce the sexist or racist tropes that often occur in mainstream porn.
* The video’s creators are attempting to be “female friendly” (yes, this is another problematic phrase). By this, I mean they have created porn that at least recognizes that women may be watching and have made an attempt to cater to those women – even if that attempt may be what some consider to be “stereotypical” or cliched. It’s still legitimate content that some women may enjoy.
* The video features men or males as the object of desire.
Some videos may only match one criteria but it’s enough. The main purpose behind this site is to allow people to find good, feminist, sex positive, female-focused porn.
As mentioned in the other articles on this site, I’m aware that “porn for women” is an imperfect phrase that doesn’t suit some people. I’ve tried to make my definitions broad in order to overcome those concerns. Also, I’ve created this site primarily to reach those who are typing that phrase into search engines; it’s still a popular search term for those who are seeking a different kind of porn. This site hopes to cater to that need.
